What to do after you receive feedback

- Whenever someone takes time out of their busy day to give you feedback and invest in your career and your development, the only appropriate response to any feedback, positive or negative, is "Thank you so much for your time." I want you to always be really gracious and acknowledge that your boss or manager or mentor went out of his or her way to take time and sit down and give you some feedback, whether or not it's feedback you agree with or disagree with, whether or not it was feedback that was really great to hear or not so fun to hear. You can say, "You know what, "That was really hard to hear, "but thank you for taking the time," or "I really appreciate your perspective. "That wasn't what I was expecting to hear, "so I'd like to take some time to think about it, "but thank you for sharing your thoughts."
