What is MLS and how can you use it?
- [Instructor] MLS stands for the multiple listing service. It's the database that all real estate agents use to list properties for sale and to search for properties. To use the MLS, we need access. Here are three ways you can get access. Number one, you can become an unlicensed agent assistant. This is not always possible, and requesting access must be approved by the agent's broker. Number two, licensed agents pay for access to the MLS as part of their fees. This is one of the reasons why you or someone in your company would get a real estate license to take advantage of this benefit. Number three, connect with agents for your team to work with. This is the easiest way to leverage resources, including access to the MLS.
