- Have you ever had the experience of having an innovative, new idea that people seemed excited about, but then it didn't really go anywhere? Or when you've made a fabulous presentation on where the business should should go, that generates a lot of enthusiasm, but then you don't get the resources and funding you need to do anything about it? That's what my friend Kyle Nel was experiencing when he was the executive director of innovation for Lowe's Hardware. Kyle's job was to come up with bold ideas about how Lowe's could use emerging technology to drive growth and customer loyalty. As an expert in behavioral science, Kyle had ideas. Imaginative, inventive, future-shaping ideas, which he presented regularly to the executive team.
