Vocal warm-up for speakers

- Have you ever noticed you can hear a speaker, but you don't clearly understand everything they're saying? This is probably an articulation issue. We warm up our articulation by exaggerating our pronunciation. Take a sentence, any sentence. Don't overthink it. You can literally just read a line from the last email you received. First, I want you to read it as though you would naturally say it. It's probably a little fast. Now, read it again, and make sure you articulate every syllable. The right articulation is probably closer to the second version, not exaggerated, but the idea is you don't want to get so far ahead of yourself that your words start running together. Another thing you can do is try a tongue twister. Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. Now, say that five times quickly. Your voice is literally your instrument. Make sure you warm it up before you start your presentation.
