- Teams that aren't located in the same space have to work a bit harder to build rapport and camaraderie. Icebreakers can provide a helpful opportunity for teammates to engage and get to know each other from afar. When you're working on a virtual team and planning those icebreakers, you'll want to consider several things. The first is advanced communication. Are you going to surprise participants at the beginning of the meeting, and push them to think on their feet? Or do you want to give people time to think about their answers and arrive prepared to engage? Some of this will depend on the actual icebreaker you plan to use.
