- Creating a value proposition in B2G selling is critical to capturing market share. The government market of sellers is vast and differentiation is therefore important. Value proposition statements position your product and your service in the market in a competitive way. The U.S Small Business Administration describes the unique value proposition as a statement that separates your business from your competitors. A unique value proposition, UVP, should be a short sentence or a phrase that explains specifically how your solution solves your government customer's problem. It's how it works, what makes it valuable and why it's better than the rest. For example, LinkedIn's UVP states, LinkedIn connects the world's professionals to make them more productive and successful. This is concise, clear and unique.
