Vague feedback holds women back

- As you're building and investing in those relationships, you should know that research says that vague feedback is holding women back. The inability to really get clear and business-aligned feedback at work makes it really murky as we figure out what it is that we need to do, what it is we need to develop to actually move the needle. So I share a story in "Dig Your Heels In" from Heather Jackson, who's somebody that really has never shied away from asking for direct feedback, and that's a part of it. You have to really ask for it, solicit it. And so if somebody's telling her, "Oh, you know you're doing a great job," she doesn't let it rest there. She says, "Okay well, is there a specific skill "I could really hone in on," or something where you know, maybe I've been doing a great job, and you think I could further strengthen that area.
