Utilize Shape Data fields
- [Instructor] Many Visio diagram templates include shapes that contain predefined data fields. Org chart shapes contain organization fields. Every flowchart shape includes seven data fields. Network diagrams contain shapes with as many as two dozen fields. And various floor plan shapes include a variety of different data fields. Each data field is configured for one of eight data types. In flow chart shapes, for example, there are Cost and Process Number fields that only accept number. The Owner and Function fields accommodate any alphanumeric data. There are two Date fields in which you can either type a date or select from a calendar. And the status field that's populated by selecting an entry from a dropdown list.
