- One of the biggest challenges with the CBAP certification is simply getting the approval to take the exam. In order to take the exam, you must first submit an application. The application is where you can demonstrate your qualifications as a business analysis professional. Even if you've been doing this for years, you have to document your experience in alignment with IIBA. Specifically you need to submit all your experience across all six of the business analysis knowledge areas. This means you're submitting your work experience for wherever your performed business analysis tasks. Remember, whether or not you held the title of business analyst doesn't matter.
