- Think about the last time you purchased a new product. I'm willing to bet you looked at some ratings or reviews on that product before you clicked the Buy button. In fact, according to a 2018 study, 86% of customers read online reviews and 91% of 18 to 34-year-olds say they trust reviews as much as personal recommendations. We tend to look at the experience others have had with the product or service before we buy it. We want to know that real people have tried this before and that they were satisfied with their purchase, and the same is true for people who may hire you. Your potential clients are more likely to hire you if someone else recommends you. And of course, direct referrals are great, but not all clients are referred directly to you, and this is why testimonials and case studies are so powerful.
