Using social media as a tool

- I made a goal last year that I want to become a personal brand leader in communications, so what did I do? Every week, I would go on LinkedIn Live, and still to this day, I use LinkedIn Live to post video interviews with successful people in communications, health, and entrepreneurship. I also would offer tips on how others can use communications and mindfulness to succeed. I've been consistent every week. Why? Because every time I would do a post on these two subjects, it would get indexed in the LinkedIn search engines. And when people, whether it's a recruiter or content creators or media opportunities or consulting opportunities, and other types were doing searches related to communications and mindfulness, I would be one of the people that would show up. Here's what I want you to do. I want you to create content around your expertise, so that you can stand out in your field. Here's some steps to do this. Determine your expertise, and then get to work. Post on the platform that you connect with the most, the platform where you feel that your audience resides. For me, it's LinkedIn. For others, it could be Instagram. For others, it could be Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Medium, or other blogs. It doesn't matter. Just pick your favorite social media platform, and then your favorite type of content, which could be video posts, status posts, or just tweets where you share news. It's so important for you to do this because when you get out there, professionals will see you as an expert in your field. And most importantly, this will help you stand out and build your personal brand.
