Using drones and robots

- Changes in data technologies aren't the only kinds of technologies that will impact the future of audit. In fact, physical technologies will also become increasingly important. What do I mean by that? Well, I mean drones or UAVs, which are unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as the use of robots, these will become increasingly important for the future of audit. Even now, many companies are using drones or UAVs to assess assets, especially if they're in remote locations or if there's a wide range of them. As for inventories, we see there are robots already in use at some different retailers that go throughout the store. And although originally designed to help customers have actually been more effective at doing inventory management and reducing shrink. But however different automated physical technologies are used, whether it's drones or robots, in the future, more of this will be important, especially for assessing assets as well as for monitoring inventory and for testing and sampling. These technologies might be first used by the biggest accounting firms, but even the smallest firms that do audits may eventually embrace the use of these physical technologies.
