- One of my favorite stories about personality profiles and how they're used in organizations, comes from my dad who consulted internationally for over four years. He was running a workshop for all of the managers of a major corporation that had been struggling with a group-think. He knew they used a personality profile and was curious about the makeup of the group. So we asked how many people fell into the first category? Out of somewhere in the vicinity of 150 managers, nearly 90% raised their hands. He was amazed, but also now knew why they suffered from group-think. There wasn't a lot of diversity of thought. On further examination, my dad found out that this company would only promote people that scored a certain type on the assessment.
