Use your nonverbal cues

- One of the things I work most with students and clients on is understanding the power of nonverbal communication. Research shows that upwards of 60 to 90% of the actual message of communication is delivered through non-verbals. Something as simple as, "Nolan come here," as opposed to, "Nolan come here," can drastically change the meaning of the message. But it's also the way you hold yourself, the use of eye contact, and all of those other physical attributes that are key components to communicating that you are listening as well. Remember, one of the key goals of effective listening is showing the other person that you're listening. Much of this is done through our non-verbals. This lesson focuses on how you can be more aware of your own non-verbals and develop the skills for using them more effectively. Start with your facial expressions.
