- Politics. Most people pale at that word. Some people say, listen, I don't want a leadership role because I don't play politics. We're not talking today about politics as an evil thing, a Machiavellian plot, something that happens in smoke-filled rooms. No, we're talking about politics being a part of organizational life. It's how work really gets done. Even on a remote team. Think about it this way. Who do you want to hire? Someone that you know. Who do you want to hire?
