- The product management interview process is long. You meet with a variety of people asking you difficult questions that test your ability to think on your feet. It's not uncommon to have a lot of anxiety about the whole thing. To assuage your concerns, let me give you a macro-level overview of what an average PM interview process might look like from beginning to end. For our purposes, we'll assume you've already submitted a resume. Okay, so the first thing that's going to happen is you'll be contacted by a recruiter. The recruiter is the gatekeeper for the rest of the process. Their goal is to ensure that you are who you say you are, and that you have the experience listed on your resume. Beyond those basic questions like tell me about yourself, and tell me about your experience, they'll also ask for your salary expectations, your availability to start, etcetera.
