- Consumer behavior is a wonderful and powerful base of knowledge for business people, especially marketers. But you have to ask yourself, "what about the ethical aspects?" Is it the right thing to do to study the psychology of people just to be able to sell them products and services? Well, I believe it is. But that all depends on you and how you use this knowledge. Customers want to buy products and services that meet their needs, and they want to be efficient at doing so. Hey, you're doing them a favor by understanding their habits, their motivations, and preferences. That helps you hit the target the first time.
