- So there I was on a New York City subway riding to audition at a Broadway theater. No, I'm not a trained actress, and no, I didn't dream I'd get the part. I just wanted to experience the process. I've always been fascinated with theater and wanted to see how auditions worked. So when I got the rejection phone call, I was okay with it. You see, when you plan for failure, it stops being something to fear. Many with imposter syndrome find ourselves paralyzed at the thought of things not going exactly right because we're afraid of failure. It keeps us from trying new things and taking chances. So let's figure out a few ways we can get unstuck and become more comfortable with new challenges. First, start small. Our goal is to develop resilience.
