Timely and honest communication with customers

- Once you have the inside of your business figured out, it's time to navigate the outside world. Communicating with customers, suppliers, and vendors during a time of crisis is going to be key for you. Here's three areas that you want to stay focused on. Be direct. Hiding under a blanket and hoping this all goes away is not a great strategy to have. It's important to be direct about the hardships that your business is facing. One of my favorite examples of this is rag & bone, the clothing company. Their founder, Marcus Wainwright, knew that his business was in trouble. He was direct and open and honest with customers. He wrote an email and posted on the website that they needed their sales to increase. So he put every single item on the website on sale. Customers knew that they needed business, he was honest that they needed business. It's important to communicate clearly. You're also going to want to be very timely…
