- Now I want to say something about strength. So I'm a self-employed person if somebody asks me to do a project I can just say I don't want to do it or I'll only do it if you pay me loads. But if you've got a boss who's asking you to do a project you have to do it. So in negotiating terms what's your walkaway point and walking away would mean refusing to do the project and that's probably not an option if you're employed. So you are quite weak and I agree with that point but remember that your boss has weaknesses too. So what would their weaknesses be? Maybe there's nobody else that they can ask to do this project. Maybe everybody else is either not able to do it or is already busy. So that's a weakness that they've got and also they want you to be happy with doing this project.
