- When carrying out the target operating model analysis, it's pretty important to use the right tools, to get the right information, to align the program objectives with the strategic objectives. There's a number of techniques that can be used for target operating model analysis. In my Program Management Foundations course, we covered the McKinsey 7S model, so today let's look at a POTI analysis. POTI stands for processes, organization, technology, and information. Processes covers business processes and includes the business model of operations and functions, operational costs, and performance levels. Organization considers the structure of the organization, staffing levels, roles and skills requirements, organizational culture, supply chain, and style. Technology, which considers technology systems and buildings, IT infrastructure and tools, equipment, machinery, and accommodation. Finally, information and data.
