- The first time I was lucky enough to race with the best team in the world in the Raid Gauloises World Championships in Ecuador, I discovered from my team captain how winning in the long term really works. It's not just about individual responsibility and accountability, right? He said, "You know what, guys? What if we all decide that we're going to be responsible and accountable for getting each other across the finish line?" Is if you, as a leader, inspire everybody on your team to suffer equally. Now, this is just kind of a funny term that my buddy, Robert, came up with at the start line of the Raid in Ecuador. Up until this particular moment, the way that everybody raced is they would just look at the race rules, fill their backpacks with the required gear, and then just walk next to each other towards the finish line, which is kind of our common understanding of teamwork in business, right?
