- Submitting an application means you're going to be competing with a lot of people for the same job. As a matter of fact, the average job opening attracts 250 resumes, and only 2% of applications will make it past this first phase. So the key to landing a job through an application is making sure you match their requirements. Read through them, and make sure you address those in your resume or profile. Now, don't get too discouraged by overly detailed job qualifications. Sometimes having a related experience with a similar technology will work. For example, if you're great at React, you might be able to apply for a job that requires Vue.js. Companies understand that some training will need to happen, especially in more entry-level positions.
