- Once your article's written, polished, and proofed for publication, it's time to consider some of the other elements that'll go into making it a complete, publishable package. Think of these as the accessories that make the outfit, or appetizers and side dishes that complete the meal. If you're working with an editor or publisher, or even if you're publishing the article yourself, say on a social media platform like LinkedIn or in company newsletter, consider including some of these to give your article a professional feel and reader appeal. Include a suggested headline. Even if you haven't been asked to include a headline, I find it's a really useful thing to do, for a few reasons. First, no one's ever going to know this article inside and out like you do, so you've got the best shot at creating an accurate summary of it, and drawing readers' attention to exactly what you hope they'll focus on while reading it.…
