- Stories activate more parts of your brain than data does, which is why they're great for sticky learning. But don't just take my word for it. Let's do an exercise to test your memory skills. It'll take two minutes. You're going to see 25 words. Pause the video and study them for a minute. Then you've got a minute to write down all the words you remember. Add up your score and restart the video. Okay, here's the 25 words. And go. Well done. I imagine you remembered between seven and 14 items. And congratulations if you got more. Most people remember more from the beginning and the end of the list than the middle. And perhaps you connected some words together. Otis, how many did you get? Well done, you got eight.
