- How can you be a supportive co-worker or leader when team members interrupt you after hours? This can be a tricky balance because most of us want to be helpful and care about others, but we also need to have a balanced personal life. Begin by establishing a consistent one-on-one meeting schedule. I cover this in-depth in my course on leading productive one-on-meetings on LinkedIn Learning. The basic idea is to have a pre-established, recurring time in both your calendars where you will meet to discuss all your quick questions. Think of one person who frequently interrupts you, or perhaps you interrupt them. Typically, one 25-minute meeting per week is a great place to start. This gives you enough time to stay on top of things without there being too long a time between these meetings.
