Stakeholder ethics

- Oddly enough, behaving ethically sometimes means sharing information openly and generously, and in other cases, it means not sharing information. Sounds odd, but it's true. We all work with people, stakeholders, who play different roles, so we need to treat them differently. I've included an exercise file which gives you a checklist of working with your peers. However, it's important to look at common sets of stakeholders in your work world and how you treat them ethically, but differently. First are peers, the people in your group you see, phone, or chat with most every workday. Honest, open sharing of information, status of your work, when you need help, and how you can help them form the foundation of ethical interaction. Getting to know your peers as individuals enhances and expands your ethical treatment of them, as you can understand them more readily. Next are vendors.
