- In your process to look for funding, you're going to want to organize this process and the best thing that I think to use is an Excel spreadsheet. Some type of program that will allow you to create a list down and across, create a grid, so that you can keep the names of people that you're approaching for funding, maybe a little detail about companies that they have funded in the past, and then keep notes on how many times you have contacted each of these people. I recommend that you create a list of at least 100 names. These 100 names may not be actual funding sources but they could be ideas of someone maybe that you went to college with that might have ideas for you. Again, going back to your LinkedIn, I think this is a terrific place to start. If you're passionate about your business and you know that you need funding, go through your LinkedIn.
