- Daily standup, or scrum, is the heart of the sprint and the scrum team. As you may have already experienced, there are a lot of things that can go wrong in the daily standup. Since this is the most important event for a scrum team, keeping this healthy will help you keep your team on track. So what does a healthy scrum look like? Well, all the team members gather at the same time and same place every day. In turn, each team member shares their highlights of their progress from yesterday, shares their plans for today, and raises any items where they're stuck and need help. The entire standup should take less than 15 minutes. While it sounds really simple, it can be really hard to master. Teams sometimes let their scrum updates turn into a deep discussion of a problem or a design decision they're facing.
