Give it the deference, reverence, and, most of all, prioritization that it deserves, and you will get the most out of it, I promise you. But the problem is most of us don't prioritize our writing. We prioritize everything else, our phones, our Apple Watches, our televisions, the news, social media, emails, video games, that meaningless text message from your best friend, telling you about their dog's favorite new chew toy. Believe it or not, sometimes we writers will do everything in our power not to write. We look for distractions. We invite them in as a form of procrastination.
