- Think about it. We give our employees job descriptions that tie to specific goals. Our departments have written targets that we measure, and for the most part as individual contributors, we know who we serve, where we're going, and how we're going to get there. But senior teams at the top, it's not that straightforward. We're often not given clear team-specific goals, or targets to measure, or a description of how we're going to get there. So how can we expect the multifunctional teams at the top to create value without this kind of clarity? We can't, so it's up to us.
