- You never know where your next client might come from. It may be a LinkedIn connection request, could be an old college classmate, might be a friend to the family, or even your seatmate on an airplane. Some tips I'd like to share in terms of finding these clients include things like go where your clients are. When I travel, I pay for a first class upgrade or I use upgrades that I've earned. I'm having a very different conversation with the vice president of a large corporation up in first class than the conversation I'm having with the person next to me with a screaming toddler on their lap back in seat 23C. Talk with people at your hotel bar or restaurant. They're traveling for business. They work for organizations that might become a client. When you're serving clients, eat in their dining facility, don't go offsite. I have a couple of clients where everyone in the organization eats in the dining facility.
