- All mentor mentee relationships grow, evolve, and change overtime. Case in point, when I first met one of my mentors, he was my professor during undergrad. I selected him as my undergraduate advisor, and despite our distinctive differences, primarily, that I'm an extrovert and he's a total introvert, I found his counsel to be full of wisdom. Years after graduation, we both independently found ourselves relocated to DC, him at a think tank, and me at a campaign organization. And once again, we met up every few months for a meal or coffee, or I'd just swing by his office when I was in the neighborhood. That was almost 10 years ago. And even though I live halfway across the country now, he still chimes in with encouragement via LinkedIn and Facebook. And we reconnect over the phone or video chat once every few years.
