- The retrospective, much maligned, underutilized, often missing the mark because they devolve into complaint sessions, yet never really at root causes of issues. Inevitably, actionable experiments are not developed and everyone feels as though they've wasted time. If this sounds like your team, let's explore a few ways great scrum masters help teams reveal root causes. First, a great scrum master develops a shared pool of knowledge across the team. To accomplish this, do the following. Ensure everyone on the team is contributing to the conversation. Encourage everyone to discuss what went right and what went wrong.
