- In another movie, I introduced you to the significance of the first five minutes. As you enter a meeting with an investor, they are generally on your side already. Their mood is positive, and most importantly, they're hopeful they're going to hear something compelling. However, as the conversation continues, be prepared for ups and downs as they voice their concerns. You have to expect that and understand how to read body cues to maintain a good conversation flow. One thing to be aware of is eye movement. Make sure when you're speaking with investors, whether you're standing or sitting, to lock eyes with the investors while you speak. This shows your sincerity and seriousness. Looking down while you're talking may make you appear unsure or insecure.
