Responding to negativity

- When you're about to have meeting where you intend to let someone go, if you wish to remain safe and professional, you need to be ready for potentially negative reactions. To be clear, hard to deal with or violent responses are incredibly rare. The lesser forms of negativity shouldn't be too surprising. Your goal is not to respond to negativity with negativity, but to respond in a way that dampens the negativity witnessed while helping move the conversation along.
