Reporting ethical issues

- Seeing or being a victim of unethical behavior can be distressing. Reporting an incident can also be traumatic. However, reporting ethical issues is vitally important. Without awareness of ethical issues your organization can't reduce the impact of unethical behavior on decision making, business results and the environment in which you work. Reporting is easier when you keep calm, cool and collected, and focus on facts that you personally have witnessed or have data to verify. When you're exposed to an ethical issue, collect the following information in as much detail as possible. The detailed description of the concern, when you became aware of the concern, who's involved, any other people that may be able to provide information on a concern, exactly when and where the situation occurred, and any additional first hand information you think may be useful to an investigator.
