- As managers of change, we need to utilize as many concepts as we can to make sure that the change sticks and stays stuck. One concept to consider is the fit. How does this change fit the organization? If the change solution is a square peg and the people are a round hole, it's not going to go that smoothly. Managers of change need to understand and analyze the fit to ensure they can adapt both the solution and the people to make sure of the correct fit and a smoother adoption. Another great concept is systems thinking, which identifies the positive and negative ripple effects of change and change management activities. Managers should first consider how actions can influence something, which then influences something else, and eventually flows back to the initial element.
