Reducing the odds of mistakes

- Let's talk about a few things you can do to make sure your presentation is as smooth as possible. You've done a lot of preparation and you don't want that to go to waste, so what do you do? Your first task if at all possible is to arrive at least one hour before the presentation begins. If you're presenting at an off-site location or a venue you've never seen, it's essential to arrive early. You never know how much traffic there will be and this could be your first time in the actual room which leads directly to step two, examining your physical surroundings. Look at the tables, chairs, the stage, and the podium. Where will you place your notes? How about that bottle of water? This is also a great time to distribute handouts if you're using them. Okay, now you check the audiovisual equipment. Make sure your presentation is loaded and ready before you present. There are a few things to consider here. Always bring up a backup digital copy.
