Once you find content in the LinkedIn Learning library, it is easy to recommend that content to individuals or groups. You can recommend videos, courses, collections, links, documents, and learning paths.
- [Instructor] Once you've added users to the platform you can begin curating and recommending content to them. First, I'm going to navigate up to the Content tab up at the top and I'll click on that. This brings me to the Content page. Now at the top of this page I want to make sure that I'm on Explore over on the left hand side and this is where I can search for courses. Now there are a few different ways to search for content. So the first one is that you can browse the data driven recommendations by selecting here from 25 different job titles. Right now it has Business Analyst.
If I click on this drop-down menu you'll see here that there are a number of different job titles. I'm going to select Online Marketing Manager and you'll see the related recommendations populate below. So here are courses related to that job title. Now another way you can search for courses is by typing into the search field. You can type here a topic, a skill, or a specific course. I'm going to go ahead and type in Developer up here. I'll go ahead and click search and it populates courses related to this as you can see here when I scroll down.
And this is a combination of courses as well as individual videos related to this. The other place that I can search is up at the top under the Topics tab. If I click here I can see the Business library, the Creative library, as well as the Technology library with these different sub-categories below them. Here under Business I'm going to go ahead and select Professional Development and it brings up courses related to that. Now on the left hand side of the course page I can use these filters to narrow down my search more.
First I can order them by Relevance, which one is Most Popular, or the Newest. Once I'm on the course page I can use the filters off to the left to narrow down my search. Over here I can search by ordering the courses by Relevance, the Most Popular, the Newest. Here I can decide if I want All content, maybe it's just LinkedIn Learning content, or customized content from Your Company. I can use the different types, so in other words am I searching for only Courses, only Videos, Links, Documents, certain things here.
I'll click on Courses. And then below that you have Level. So is this for everyone, stuff for beginners, Intermediate, Advanced. Now when you find a course on here I can click on either the thumbnail or the title to learn more about the course. I'll click here on The New Rules of Work. And you'll see that if I scroll down I'm able to see the Course Overview, the author, and I can click on Contents here to see the table of contents and the different videos that are inside of this course. So this is very short course here that has these six or seven different videos.
Now I can also preview the video from here to watch some of the course. If I want to recommend the course in the upper right corner we have this Recommend button. I'll go ahead and click on that and then I can decide if I want to recommend to learners or groups or to get a shareable link. If I decide to get a shareable link I can share that out via email, social media, a learning management system, however I would like to share it. In this case I want to recommend it right here on the LinkedIn Learning platform, so I'll click on Recommend to learners or groups.
It'll bring up a pop-up box allowing you to put in here who you want to send it to. In this case I'll type in Mary and it brings up Mary Ruddy. And then I'll type in here the name of a group, so a Sales group, and I want to send it to that entire group. Now see down here it's letting me know who I'm sending it to. If you want to send it to all users within your organization you can click here, Recommend to all users. Now I also recommend that you type in a message letting the person know why you're recommending this content. So this is optional, but it's probably a good idea to type in here and put this content relates to, and whatever it is that would fit inside there.
You also at the bottom have the ability to put in a due date. if you'd like users to watch this by a certain time you can click here. Let's say that I want it watched by the end of the month, I'll put in January 31st. I can always Remove or Change that at any time. And when I'm done I'll click Send. And just like that I've recommended that content. Now you can also recommend content from anywhere within the Explore tab. So if I go back to Content, I'm here on Explore. When you see courses here in the LinkedIn Learning platform you'll notice that they have this arrow icon, which is the recommend arrow.
I see a course here on Learning Data Analytics. If I want to recommend this course I can just quickly click on that icon, Recommend to learners and groups, and do the same thing that I just did. Now once you've recommended content to a user the next time they log into their LinkedIn Learning account they'll see that content has been recommended to them by their organization and they can begin watching it right away. So it's that easy to recommend content to individuals or groups on LinkedIn Learning.
