Laurie Ulrich shares her tricks for quickly building a database that matches the structure you devised through the storyboarding and planning process.
- [Instructor] Once you've brainstormed which tables your database needs, it's time to dive in and create a table. In this blank database, I'm going to go to the Create tab and click the Table button to create my first new table. As soon as this is done, you're in data sheet view of the table to be, and you can press Control + S or click the Save button on the quick access toolbar or go to the File tab and click Save. Then give the table a simple name based on the brainstorming and planning process.
Repeat this process, creating tables and immediately saving them, and you'll have the structure for your database all set up. With your tables created and saved, you can go back to each table, switch to Design view, and add the fields that will store everything you know about your customers, your products, your library, whatever it is you're storing in the database.
