Quality planning, assurance, and control
- Quality isn't something that just happens in projects. It's actually something that we need to manage and we can break quality management down into three specific processes. The first process is planning for quality. What will we do to build quality into our project plan and ensure that we produce quality results? For example, one of the things we need to plan for is creating a good set of requirements so that we can measure the quality of our project. The next process is quality assurance. Quality assurance is about making sure that we're sticking to the plan and following processes correctly, tracking progress towards deliverables and monitoring our budget are both examples of quality assurance. Quality assurance also includes making changes that improve quality in our project. And the third process is quality control.
