- Proactivity, confidence, resilience, joy. You have to have joy. "Even if things are not going great, let's figure it out." (laughs) Come in with an optimism, definitely just energy. And probably most importantly, a curiosity. Just a real curiosity. "I don't know. How can we do this?" And a resourcefulness. "I might not know the answer, but I know someone who else will, and let me call them and get back to you." At BET, our ideas come from everywhere, literally everywhere. And that's the great thing. We have young people at the company, or I should say younger people at the company (laughs), who brainstorm ideas, and literally it ends up on-screen. Say we're just doin' a regular pitch for a show, a campaign idea for a show.
