Qualifiers

- In this lesson we're going to talk about qualifiers. People tend to use qualifiers when they're feeling insecure about conveying their opinion or point. Some typical qualifies can include, kind of, sort of, adjust, maybe. Do any of these ring a bell? (upbeat music) Here's an example to show you exactly what I mean. The first sentence is, I think we should go with the green design and maybe roll it out in December. Versus, we should go with the green design and roll it out in December. Which did you feel was more powerful, clear and concise? Think about how you move through your day, communicating casually, extemporaneously. Are you using qualifiers? If so, what are they? And by paying attention to whether you're using them or not, can you begin to eliminate them and stop using them as a crutch?
