- [Instructor] Let's move to a more powerful, more accurate, and more exclusive tool, namely the MLS, which stands for the Multiple Listing Service. To access the Multiple Listing Service, you must be a licensed real estate agent. If you're not a licensed agent, you'll need to find a business associate or friend who is so that you can get access. It's absolutely vital. Trying to run your real estate business without access to the MLS is like going to the Antarctic without any clothes. It's just not going to turn out well. So don't do it. The reason the MLS is so valuable is that it's run by the Board of Realtors. In other words, the data is current, it's up to date, it's monitored, and that it's organized in a way that's highly effective in terms of market research and in acquiring comparables.
