Practicing correctly

- All great speakers are also great at practicing. It's the hours of practice that make them great, and I'm not talking about one or two run throughs, it takes time to build the cognitive and behavioral comfort required to deliver a great talk. Practice is just a thoughtful series of rehearsals. I recommend at least five that include feedback, that's how you build increased comfort and effectiveness when speaking and the benefits are clear. The first benefit is that practice exposes your biggest flaws. It might be that you're using too much industry jargon or that you have a strange non-verbal tick, or something else you didn't know about. You're not trying to become perfect, no one is, but you can learn to identify your biggest quirks and errors in order to target them for improvement. The second benefit is increased awareness of how to improve the content you're delivering.
