- You know, a lot of corporate insurance companies actually pay their clients to develop a crisis PR plan. I know a lot of clients who have done that myself, and it's been great when they put it together, but oftentimes it just goes into a file in the cloud and never to be seen again. That's a great start, but the only way to actually make sure that the crisis PR plan is implemented effectively is to practice it, because if you don't, the concern is is that the spokespeople will go into one of two modes that don't serve you well. They'll go into either fight mode or flight mode. Now in fight mode, the spokesperson, typically the leader of the HR department or some C-level executive will actually just simply refute the arguments and the allegations vehemently, publicly, and even go so far as to discredit the accuser.
