Practice: Develop an inclusive mindset
- This practice will help you build an inclusive and agile mindset. Find a quiet space, and shut off any distractions. Sit comfortably, spine straight, shoulders relaxed. Close your eyes or soften your gaze. We'll start by taking three long breaths. Stay focused on your breath as you breathe in and breathe out. Deep breath in, (inhaling) two, three, breathe out, (exhaling), two, three, four, five, six. Breathe in, (inhaling) two, three, breathe out, (exhaling), two, three, four, five, six. Take another deep breath. (inhaling and exhaling) Now, bring to mind a situation where you're convinced that you're right and are having a hard time seeing another person's perspective. Notice your thoughts. Label them. For example, you might say, "I'm right because I'm the expert," or, "I'm right because of my experience," or, "I'm right because I'm the boss." Just notice the thought and label it. As you take a step back and notice your thoughts, can you see what your mind's beliefs are without…
