- [Instructor] Have you ever heard the expression "You can't see the forest for the trees?" It's basically referring to someone who is too wrapped up and focused on the small details of a problem and unable to see the situation as a whole. Sound familiar? I often find this is true about myself when I'm somewhere around the middle of my story. I get so hyper focused about making a single scene or paragraph or plot point work, I forget what the whole story is about. This can easily happen to non-fiction writers too. Any time a writer gets caught up in a single problem, they often lose sight of the big picture and sometimes it can even cause them to stop writing all together and that's where this tool is going to help you out a lot. It's called the power of the bullet point. I'm a huge fan of bullet points.
