Planning table and field names

- [Instructor] Continue the planning process by devising short, easily-understood, logical names for each of the tables your brainstorming sessions revealed. Inside each table, give your fields short, logical names, too. Why short names? To save space and to reduce the margin for error in typing the names the first time, and when you save backup copies, or just to simplify things. If your table will contain yoga class students, simply call it students. You know you're teaching yoga. It's not needed in the table name. Why waste the space? As you compile your lists of tables and fields, I recommend either writing them down on three by five cards, one per table, or use an Excel worksheet to list the tables, and in the rows below each table name cell, type the field names for each table.
